This project was designed and built by Peak Builders, Inc. It is an extremely energy efficient structure that is transitional in design. The first phase of its life will be a home. The second phase will be a workshop. The building has one full bathroom, an 18' garage bay and a small mechanical room that houses the tankless water heater and the radiant floor heating system. The building is completely SIPs with a 4 inch side wall, 6 inch gable end walls and 8 inch roof panels. The building has a 1.5 ton, 16 seer, ductless heat pump that can heat and cool the building with an average annual cost of around $50 per month.
One side wall was framed with headers to accomodate future installation of two 18' garage doors. Windows were framed in those openings for the first phase of the buildings' life. During the second phase, the building will be transformed to look like an old fashioned gas station, thus the design of the carport awning in the front.
